Speed reading

Speed reading is a superior type of reading which utilises human brain's full capacity in the process of reading. Normally we can read at the rate of maximum 250 words per minute. But human brain has the ability to grasp information in a much faster rate. The limitation of speed in normal reading is because we sub-vocalise what we are reading in our head. Speed reading is a skill that can be learned through practice. To practice speed reading try to read at least 5 times faster than your normal speed. First it may seen nothing is getting into your brain, but your brain is processing at a greater speed. First try with a simple book. The first step in speed reading is getting into a resourceful state of mind. This can be achieved using relaxation techniques. The second step is to preview the material, only going through the headings and figures. Then ask some questions to yourself about the subject to arouse interest. Then speed read. After that review.
Speed reading is a skill that will serve you for a lifetime.
